I feel really lucky to have so many LGBTQ+ LEGO friends around the world too via twitter and Instagram that are so supportive in the LEGO community. About six years ago, a participant at a local BrickCon made a gay club. It included quite a bit of lighting and depicted gay male minifigs enjoying the evening. Since then, I’ve made MOCs for Pride, shown only to my friends list. GayFols is the first forum where I have made my Pride and LGBTQ+ MOCs public.

Popular modelsinclude Highway Speedster,31034 Future Flyer, and6913 Blue Roadster among many others. If you want to offer the full set, parts included in the box and ready to build, you will need to source every part. I mainly have used Bricklink to source the parts needed for each set. I have also used LEGO’s Bricks and Pieces service, but the availability of parts is often hit or miss.

Ideally, I wanted to have the translucent orange dish piece on the chest of the MHM light up as well, but it wasn’t able to be done. However, my core features of light-up eyes and poseability were successful. If you’re building something that relies on very specific colours, you should familiarise yourself with what parts are available in those colours. You can look into this on the colour tab on Bricklink.com, or here on Brickset.com, as well as on the software Bricklink Studio. For MHM, the biggest challenge of the entire process, from designing and building, to sourcing parts, etc., was that a large amount of the parts used were magenta and dark purple. These colours aren’t available for many elements, so it greatly limited the selection of parts to build with.

In the tool, you’ll be able to select different heads, headwear, torsos, legs, and accessories for your custom Minifig. For the torso, you can go really deep on customization by applying decals and custom text. Completed Minifigs will cost $11.99, though you can only buy one per household. Lego is testing a new online Minifigure maker, the Minifigure Factory, that lets you create a Lego person of your very own (via Jay’s Brick Blog, which I promise has no relation to me).

Once you’ve got your steps seemingly making sense, print them out and have a family member or a friend attempt to build your model. You may need to modify the angle showing the building step or change the order of the parts being added. From these physically deconstructed sections, I would rebuild these areas by hand, as well as, simultaneously building them in Bricklink Studio. In Bricklink Studio, I would generate a new step after adding about 5-6 parts into the onscreen build.

Lots of useful information and great job by the way! Studio is dark, confusing, time consuming and overall pretty overrated. Certain parts might appear to be available to buy, but upon looking further only a handful of sellers might have them. This is more often the case for parts that have only ever appeared in one set, at low quantities in that set. Printing in CMYK often makes your artwork appear darker, or more blue. If you are designing your own box/ instructions, check that your document’s colour profile is set correctly to RGB (screen) or CMYK (print).

We're working on a re-design of many of our figures and will be reopening the checkout to new orders shortly. There are many MOCs that only use the parts from a single set. For your next LEGO purchase, you might be getting two, three, or even seven models for the price of one!

The dimensions factored in that the box had to contain the printed instruction booklet, and the parts for the set (which were separated into 5 bags for each stage of the build). I ensured this was accurate by physically testing that all components would fit. In terms of production, I also had samples of the box and the instructions printed up.

Re-build your existing LEGO sets into new awesomeness

” followed by countless replies to the affirmative, as well as messages of support and welcome from others. We have a screening process to join the group, and so far we’ve been very successful at keeping bullies and trolls out. Sometime in high school, for a multitude of silly reasons, I let go of LEGO.

I stood my ground, argued that people were actually supportive of the post and I should not have to remove it because a random person was uncomfortable. This didn’t work, so in the end I left the group rather than try to deal with the obvious homophobia. I didn’t think this would become something important, or necessary. I didn’t realize that others wanted the same things I did. And a collection of people stepped up and made us into something good. This isn’t the 80s anymore, and not every LEGO face has a smile, but we can still build our own worlds to keep us safe.

There are hundreds of different designs and parts to choose from to make THE perfect character. We can make your friends, family or just about anybody into a personalised LEGO figure! You can customise your character to make the perfect figure by changing aspects like the face, body, legs and more!

I was your typical LEGO kid, but as a child I never knew about the broader LEGO fan community. It was a private in-home toy that allowed me to build and experience worlds beyond my reach. I affirmed my love of LEGO when in college (a pinnacle moment of my life during which I came out both to friends, family and to myself). Determined to find more people like me, I started wearing rainbow flags on my brick badge. Most would ignore it, but at an AFOL convention in 2015, I met a guy named Erez who remarked on my rainbow badge, and then introduced me to his AFOL boyfriend.

Once you have all this in mind, head to our Create Your Own Minifig page, enter your requirements, and we will do the rest! If you want to order ten or more personalised LEGO figures you can apply discounts at the checkout to save money on your order. LEGO® Ideas sets are inspired by fan creations and uploaded to the LEGO® Ideas site, where they are voted by fans. After reaching 10,000 votes, each set is reviewed by our LEGO designers and some become official sets! The LEGO® Ideas sets range offers a selection of some of the most recognizable and realistic models available, reflecting all sorts of different interests. Complex recreations of classic video game levels sit alongside working digital musical instruments, while science lovers can dive in with models of space tech.

Part of the problem in society here is that homosexuality is still illegal, so both institutionalized and societal homophobia still run unchecked. Unfortunately it’s present in the local AFOL community as well, so over time I’ve just become a more active participant in online forums like Brickset, as well as places like the GAYFOLs group on Facebook. It is nice to have a safe space where I can just post stuff and make comments without having to worry about backlash. Rebrickable will show you which LEGO Sets you can build from the sets and parts you already own.You can choose from official LEGO Sets or custom MOCs (My Own Creations) submitted by thousands ofdesigners.

LEGO is actually one of the things that led me to hitting it off with my now husband who also played with it as a kid and never stopped. Without a supportive LEGO community, I don’t think we would have clicked as much as we did while we were dating. I have never considered much of a connection between my relationship to LEGO and my experience as an LGBTQ+ person.

Today bad Dad jokes and puns are avoided in my intro. However regarding the rest of my review, it is inevitable. Celebrating with your family surely is a common tradition in (probably) all cultures. This new set takes a special look at this tradition in China on the Spring Festival as final (15th) day of the new years celebrations.
